Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ½ cup milk
Apples
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
Frying
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Topping
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg and milk. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Add Apples
  1. Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed in the batter.
Fry the Fritters
  1. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Use a slotted spoon to remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
Serve
  1. Dust the warm fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
