Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Apples
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
Frying
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Topping
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Add Apples
  1. Fold in the diced apples into the batter until evenly distributed.
Fry the Fritters
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
  3. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve
  1. Dust the warm fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
