Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1 package pie crust store-bought or homemade
Filling
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese such as Gruyère or cheddar
  • 1 cup cooked vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked meat like bacon or ham, optional
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg optional

Method
 

Prepare the Crust
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in the pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork.
  2. Pre-bake the crust for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and set aside.
Make the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  2. Stir in the shredded cheese, cooked vegetables, and cooked meat if using.
Bake the Quiche
  1. Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and spread evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.
  3. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
