Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk lukewarm
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking sheets
  • whisk

Method

  1. Warm the milk in a saucepan until lukewarm. Combine it with yeast and granulated sugar in a bowl. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center, add the yeast mixture along with melted butter, and mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface, sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with cinnamon, and layer sliced strawberries.
  5. Roll tightly from one edge, slice into rolls about 2 inches wide, place on greased baking sheets, and let rise again while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown. Allow cooling slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.
