Frosting
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the baking pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until fully combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
Frosting
  1. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar.
  2. Add the heavy cream and lemon juice, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Once the cakes have cooled, layer them with the frosting in between.
  4. Frost the top and sides of the cake as desired.
