  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Cooking Steps
  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
  2. Stir in the grits and salt, reduce heat, and simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat; add the shrimp.
  5. Cook the shrimp until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add the minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice; stir to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve the creamy grits topped with the shrimp mixture and garnish with fresh parsley.
