Ingredients
  

Ribs
  • 2 pounds pork ribs baby back or spare ribs
Dry Rub
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand

Method
 

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients.
  4. Rub the dry mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.
Bake the Ribs
  1. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.
  2. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil to keep them moist.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
Finish with Barbecue Sauce
  1. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
  2. Brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
  3. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.
Serve
  1. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes
