Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups pumpkin puree canned or homemade
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves ground
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger ground
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method
 

Cooking the Pumpkin Butter
  1. In a saucepan, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture starts to bubble.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add apple cider vinegar and lemon juice, and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before blending until smooth.
  6. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
