Ingredients
  

Jam Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and mashed
  • 2 cups granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 package fruit pectin such as Sure-Jell
  • 1 cup water for dissolving pectin

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberries
  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the hulled strawberries with a potato masher until desired consistency is reached.
Mix Sugar and Pectin
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and fruit pectin. Stir well to mix.
Combine Ingredients
  1. Add the sugar-pectin mixture to the mashed strawberries and mix thoroughly.
Dissolve Pectin
  1. In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the pectin mixture and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Fill Containers
  1. Pour the jam mixture into freezer-safe containers, leaving some space at the top for expansion.
Freeze
  1. Seal the containers and freeze for up to 1 year. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
